Normally we might have skipped this announcement, but the game name is kinda catchy don’t you think?
Our namesake of a game appears to have finally launched. You can now setup an account for free with NCSoft if you don’t already have one (You did try City of Heroes yes?), and apply a free serial code to activate the DungeonRunners account.
If you haven’t already heard about DungeonRunners it appears to be a multiplayer game crossed between Diablo and a World of Warcraft visual style with wierd monsters to boot. If you like the game and don’t want to be an undergeared scrub with a wooden sword and shield battling it out you can pay $4.95 a month to upgrade your account for increased bank space, access to better gear, potions that stack, and login queue priority.
If you do try the game, make sure to drop us a comment or post in the forums with your feedback!
Blizzard seems to have finally taken notice of the growing support queue of gold spam complaints.
Their first act to solve the gold spam issue was to implement an automated response to fend off the barrage of complaints by customers that tied up GM time. You’ll even find a new option in the reasons why you cancelled box for “Gold Spam” when you discontinue your monthly subscription. If only their efforts were better directed at the spammers themselves you say!
Well, Eyonix did make an announcement in the Worldofwarcraft.com forums stating the following:
As many of you know, the latest content patch, along with many great new content additions, contains technical counter-measures designed to combat in-game gold spamming. Our efforts to reduce in-game abuse and create a fun, safe environment for everyone are never-ending.
With that said, we felt that it was important to share with the community just how serious we are in our efforts to combat this type of abuse. Blizzard has filed a federal lawsuit against the operators of Peons4hire, a popular gold-selling organization which many of you have no doubt seen advertised. As part of the lawsuit, the operators of Peons4hire have been asked to immediately cease all in-game spamming efforts by all entities and websites under their control.
If this organization refuses to act accordingly, further legal action will be taken. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on the progress of this topic.
There’s also been some word of minor changes to the /tell system to delay potential “spam” messages. Really can it be that hard to solve? We’ve had gold spammers doing global yells into 40man instances for over a year already…

If Sony hadn’t recieved enough free publicity over the recalled magazine, or leaked photos and news… they’ve also put out a full video of game footage with cut scenes of the party “in context” of the game scenes.
What? No mini-game sex scene Sony? We can only do sooo much with the free press on this game!
Courtesy of GameVideos we can do Sony’s job for them… Caution: If you’re under 18, live with an over protective mother, are stuck at work and can’t do without the full audio experience and don’t want to get fired, bookmark this for later.
Sometimes I really think we should get paid for this! DR Signing off…
Yes … and No. The PotBS Team are reporting that they aren’t quite shipping out next month as planned. They are however dramaticly increasing the total would be pirates in the Beta by the end of June.
So here it is plain: We won’t be shipping in June.
However, we will be expanding the beta dramatically at the end of June. This coincides with us finally having the original version of the game that we expected to ship for R1. It’s a massive improvement over what’s in the beta now, with a lot of moving pieces all finally coming together. We’ll introduce it to our current beta folks, and assuming that goes well, we’ll start the process of inviting people in. Lots of people. This isn’t an open beta — we view that as entirely a marketing device and we still have serious, large-scale testing to do of the economy, the Conquest system, and other features. But it is a huge expansion of our beta population. Currently, to get into the beta, you have to either be crazy lucky or have a beta key. Now your odds will get a lot more reasonable.
Apparently the corporate money types handling business negotiations are holding things up for the FlyingLab crew, so they’re taking the time to polish up the game and extend the beta. So expect a larger closed beta stress test, then possibly an open beta prior to retail launch when they get the business details hammered out with the real pirates of the world.
If you haven’t already signed up for the beta, now is your chance to do so before this ship sets sail and you’re left playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure all by yourself!

The story was originally broke by Charles Onyett from IGN as it was happening on the floor at the Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea aproximately an hour ago.
So far here’s the details:
- No release date has been announced.
- Simultaneous release on Windows and Macintosh platforms.
- The game UI remains very close to the original.
- Graphic style and unit proportions are nearly the same.
- Enhanced lighting effects (Think C&C3, and Supreme Commander)
- Massive battles with hundreds of units for large scale fights
- Single player, and online play through upgraded Battle.net service
- Realistic physics system for particle debris
- New unique gameplay mechanics for Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races.
New units such as the Protoss Mothership with a weapon to slow time while also creating black holes or launching a devastating massive laser against ground targets, Protoss Immortals with defense shields, Protoss Stalker (four legged unit) with self teleport, Protoss Colossus with dual lasers and long legs to travel over difficult terrain easily, Protoss Phoenix with the ability to overcharge weapons for a one-time shot with a cooldown, Protoss Warprey flying unit with a damage over time laser that increases in effectiveness but vulnerable to ground troops, Terran Reapers with jump packs, and Zerglings that can now mutate into rolling kamakazie bombs.
New abilities, Protoss can create shields whereever they want, and can warp in units from manufacturing facilities within range of their pylons. Protoss in general apparently will have great mobility for all units using phase fields and teleporting to move large groups of forces around.
Overall it sounds like SC2 is shaping up to be a solid sequel to the original released in early 1998. It likely won’t be blazing any new ground for the RTS genre but with Blizzards careful development its sure to be yet another bestseller with the polish and action packed gameplay that its die-hard fanbase expects.
